Connecting Street Performers and Audiences

Cambridge

A blend of historic university architecture and bustling tourist trade. Cambridge offers highly lucrative daytime pitches with a sophisticated local crowd.

With its constant stream of international tourists and affluent student population, Cambridge is a fantastic city for street performance. The atmosphere is highly rewarding, provided performers adhere strictly to the Cambridge Street Performers Code of Practice.

By following the rules—such as respecting the 30-metre volume limit and adhering to the 1-hour pitch rotation—you help protect businesses and residents from prolonged noise, ensuring this historic city centre remains welcoming to street talent. The pitch outside King’s College on a sunny weekend continues to be one of the most sought-after spots in the country.

Top Spots

  • King's Parade (The most iconic, high-traffic spot opposite King's College)
  • Market Square (Extremely busy during the day, great for larger circle shows)
  • Trinity Street (Good for acoustic acts, narrower street but steady footfall)
  • Sidney Street (Heavy shopping traffic)

Local Rules

  • Volume: Music or voice must not be amplified to a level heard beyond a distance of 30 metres.
